About this Package
Short on time, but big on adventure? This 5-day journey offers a rich mix of hiking, culture and relaxation in Uganda’s stunning Mount Elgon region. You’ll explore the best trails, meet inspiring indigenous people and experience slow travel the Elgon way. With space to breathe, move and connect. Highlights include the Kapchorwa Wilderness Hike, the Mosopisiek Trail and of course the mighty Sipi Falls. Evenings are spent in comfort at our Guesthouse, with nourishing meals and views across the valley. It’s the perfect balance of immersive adventure and ultimate relaxation.
What you'll do
Day 1: Journey to Kapchorwa
Day 1
8.00am: Pick-up from your Entebbe hotel for a 8-hour journey to Kapchorwa ‘Stretch your legs’ stop-overs @ Javahouse in Jinja and/or Endiro Coffee in Mbale 4.00pm: Arrival and check-in at your hiking base Home of Friends Gueshouse in Kapchorwa 6.00pm: Three-course dinner full of fresh ingredients 8.00pm: Campfire storytelling with the Sebei Cultural Storytellers and your native hiking guides
Day 2: Explore Kapchorwa and its stunning surroundings
Day 2
7.30am: Breakfast at Home of Friends (possible to take coffee from 7.00am onwards) 8.30am: Explore the beautiful surroundings of Kapchorwa Town during a 3,5-hour ‘Champion’s Trail + waterfall’ walk 1.00pm: Lunch and fresh juice in the lush garden of Home of Friends 2.30pm: Choose your favorite afternoon activity: A) mountain bike village tour, B) another nature walk loop or C) relaxing in the hammock with a book and one more juice:) 7.00pm: Dinner at your hiking base Home of Friends
Day 3: Mosopisiek village experience
Day 3
7.30am: Breakfast @ Home of Friends 8.30am: Departure to the starting point of the Mosopisiek village experience in Chemuron (2500m ASL) 9.30am: 3-hour morning hike passed mountain villages, local farms and amazing viewpoints 1.00pm: (Packed) lunch at a spectacular hilltop 2.00pm: 3-hour afternoon hike via Kapchelal ancestral hill, the largest cave on Mount Elgon ‘Mukuuso’ and ending @ Mengia waterfall 5.30pm: Boda ride back to your base Home of Friends 7.30pm: Dinner in the Home of Friends restaurant
Day 4: Meet modern cave dwellers along the Kapchorwa Wilderness Hike

7.00am: Breakfast at Home of Friends 8.00am: Departure for a 8-to-9 hour Kapchorwa Wilderness Hike (including packed lunch) 5.30pm: Arrival back @ Home of Friends 7.00pm: Dinner at Home of Friends
Day 5: Sipi Day!

8.00am: Breakfast at Home of Friends 9.00am: Departure to Sipi Falls 10.00am: Three-hour waterfall hike 1.00pm: Long lunch @ Endiro Restaurant in Sipi 3.00pm: Coffee tour at a local farm & mini-plantation 6.30pm: Sunset walk and cool photo moments @ Kings’ viewpoint in Sipi 7.30pm: Departure back to Home of Friends 8.00pm: Dinner & closure campfire @ Home of Friends
