The Sebei Cultural Retreat is a structured 8-day immersion program based in Kapchorwa, combining guided hiking, cultural exchange, and highland lifestyle experiences in partnership with local communities. Designed for culturally curious and active travelers, the retreat blends the Mosopisiek Trail wilderness immersion, highland running culture, culinary experiences, Sipi Falls, and heritage storytelling into one cohesive journey. Day 1 — Arrival in Kapchorwa Check-in at Home of Friends, welcome dinner, and an evening cultural storytelling session. Day 2 — Kapchorwa Orientation A 3-4 hour nature walk followed by a cooking session with the Kapchorwa Mamas. Day 3 — Highland Running Culture Walk the Champion's Trail, visit a local runner's farm, and end the day with an evening reflection session. Days 4-5 — Mosopisiek Trail Immersion A 2-day guided trek through ancestral hills and remote villages, including homestay nights, elder storytelling, bamboo weaving, cave visits, and community exchange. 12-15km per day with steep sections up to 2,700m. Day 6 — Sipi Falls & Coffee Heritage Full waterfall circuit, Arabica coffee tour, and scenic viewpoints. Day 7 — Cultural Heritage Finale Cave experience and optional honey-wine tasting. Day 8 — Departure Accommodation is 5 nights at Home of Friends Guesthouse and 2 nights in Mosopisiek family homestays, all full-board on single occupancy. Boda transfers are included where applicable. Transportation to and from Kapchorwa is not included. Suitable for active travelers with general fitness — the program is moderate overall with two more demanding trekking days on the Mosopisiek Trail.
