This 10-day running holiday takes you deep into Kapchorwa’s high-altitude world, where Olympic dreams are shaped by steep hills, fresh air and a powerful running culture rooted in Community. Guided by native athlete-coaches, you’ll combine structured training sessions with cultural experiences, trail adventures and moments of genuine connection. Whether you’re aiming to boost performance or simply seeking fresh inspiration, this camp gives you a rare chance to learn directly from the people who grew up running these hills. Your base is a comfortable Guesthouse with self-contained rooms, nutritious meals, campfires and the warm hospitality Kapchorwa is known for. Expect daily coached runs, technique insights, waterfall loops, speed sessions, recovery massages, cultural storytelling and visits to the athletes and hidden gems that make this region special. Everything - from airport transfers to meals - is arranged so you can focus on training, exploring and enjoying.
What you'll do
Day 1: Journey to the Land of Champions
Day 1
8.00am: Pick-up from your hotel in Entebbe for the scenic 8-hour drive to Kapchorwa. With leg-stretch stops in Jinja (Java House) and Mbale (Endiro Coffee) 4.00pm: Check-in at Home of Friends Guesthouse 6.00pm: Dinner at Home of Friends 8.00pm: Campfire introduction and meet-your-guides session
Day 2: First taste of Kapchorwa's trails

6.45am: Easy morning run: Champion’s Loop with your coach 9.00am: Breakfast 10.30am: Kapchorwa Nature Walk: caves, waterfalls & viewpoints 1.00pm: Lunch 4.00pm: Guided town walk 6.30pm: Dinner Meals include high-carb options, organic juice/smoothies & free water refills.
Day 3: Roots of the champions

6.30am: Speed work session at the BOMA grounds 8.30am: Breakfast 10.00am: Organic & Healthy Food Tour 2.00pm: Lunch 4.00pm: Relaxation massage with Eliza and/or Nelly 7.00pm: Dinner
Day 4: Waterfalls & Cooking with the Kapchorwa Mamas

6.30am: Guided run --> Waterfall loop with our native guides 8.30am: Breakfast 11.00am: Sports massage with Kissa 1.30pm: Lunch 3.30pm: Cooking with the Kapchorwa Mamas: prepare an authentic champion’s meal 7.00pm: Dinner (optional light dinner as there will also be food served during the Cooking with the Kapchorwa Mamas)
Day 5: The Teryet Challenge & High-Altitude Sunset

7.00am: Breakfast 8.30am: The Strava-famous Teryet Challenge (12 km, 600m elevation gain - a true Kapchorwa classic) 1.00pm: Lunch 3.30pm: Sunset experience overlooking the Karamoja plains 7.00pm: Dinner
Day 6: Discovering the roots of Uganda's elite runners

7.30am: Breakfast 8.30am: Trip to Mengia (1 hour on boda boda's) 10.00am: Morning run through the Mengia & Mosopisiek Community 1.00pm: Lunch with local runners 2.00pm: Explore Mukuuso Cave, followed by bamboo weaving with Mosopisiek women 5.00pm: Return to Home of Friends 7.00pm: Dinner
Day 7: Culture, coffee & recovery

6.30am: Guided run --> Kamuges Road 8.30am: Breakfast 9.30am: Drive to Kween 10.00am: Coffee tour with Masha Coffee 1.30pm: Lunch 2.30pm: Sports massage 7.00pm: Dinner
Day 8: Sipi Day

8.30am: Breakfast 9.30am: Departure to Sipi 10.00am: Hike to the three Sipi waterfalls 1.30pm: Lunch at Endiro Sipi 2.30pm: Optional activities --> - Abseiling at Sipi’s main waterfall - Rock climbing at Chebonet 7.00pm: Dinner 8.00pm: Sebei cultural storytelling & running culture insights around the campfire
Day 9: Farewell to Kapchorwa

6.45am: Breakfast 7.30am: Short morning jog with guide 1.00pm: Lunch 3.00pm: Meet & Greet at the Joshua Cheptegei Development Foundation (guests may bring small athletics gear donations) 7.30pm: Dinner 8.30pm: Optional nightlife outing in Kapchorwa Town
Day 10: Journey back to Entebbe
